Fashion Can Serve, an advocacy project of ICanServe Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Security Bank Corporation, was recently lauded at the 16th Philippine Quill Awards held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay. The project received an Award of Merit under the Corporate Social Responsibility category. This year’s theme of Purpose in Communication emphasized the importance of communication in shaping the world for the better.
ICanServe Foundation and Security Bank teamed up to organize a runway-for-a-cause event to support their commitment to women’s health and wellness.
Fashion Can Serve, held from 2015 to 2017, was a fundraising fashion show which featured some of the Philippines’ most notable fashion designers. In 2017, six acclaimed designers – JC Buendia, Ito Curata, Cary Santiago, Vania Romoff, Mia Arceneas and Rosenthal Tee showcased their creative vision and used their holiday collections to send a message of hope and raise support for breast cancer awareness and early detection. Among the supporters of the project were Asia’s Next Top Model winner Maureen Wroblewitz and celebrity muses Margie Moran, Gloria Diaz, Pia Wurtzbach, Solenn Heussaff and Jasmine Curtis-Smith who walked the runway in honor of a family member or a friend battling breast cancer.
With the proceeds of the partnership, ICanServe Foundation and Security Bank were able to empower communities and women through breast cancer forums, breast cancer screenings and check-ups covering almost 800 individuals.
