ICanServe@15: Saving Lives, Keeping Families Whole

ICanServe Foundation’s 15th anniversary on October 6, 2015 was a celebration of life, powered by hope, and inspired by the help given by the walking wounded, and even our fallen warriors, who reached out to their ‘sisters’ through prayer, sacrifice and when able, financial assistance—until they breathed their last.

ICanServe honored partners and volunteers who have embraced the call for early breast cancer detection through community-based screening programs, and high-impact information campaigns. It remembered its many members who witnessed its infancy and childhood, but did not live to see it become the teenager it is today.

Volunteers, led by the board of directors, pledged to serve the cancer community as follows:

I renew my commitment to the community of cancer warriors;
to fight with all my might;
to help with all my heart;
to inspire hope and
to pray with faith and with trust
in the abundant mercies of our healing Lord Jesus.

(Together tonight,) we renew our pledge to live up to our foundation’s name: I CAN SERVE!

The pledge was written by Philippine Daily Inquirer editor-in-chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc, mother of ICanServe co-founder Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala. Aside from Alikpala, ICanServe was co-founded by Crisann Celdran, Becky Fuentes and Bet Lazatin.
