MALOU FORES, co-founder and CEO of Mamou

“I value and cherish every waking moment that I am blessed with.”

If my cancer journey has taught me one thing, it is that nothing is permanent, and that life is determined by the choices and decisions we make for ourselves… This is why I hold every moment dear to me… I express my feelings and sentiments when I feel I must — I don’t keep them inside me. I also stay away from unnecessary negativity.

After my diagnosis and going through treatment, I discovered that I had it in me to be disciplined in the face of adversity. I became focused on getting through my journey to recovery — making sure that I continued to exercise, ate a proper diet, got enough sleep and rest, all the while maintaining a positive mindset.

I make every minute count and try to live my life to the fullest. When I can, I indulge myself with more time outside the city — immersing myself in the healing ambience of the sea, the mountains, nature. I also like traveling to and discovering new places. I have an ample work schedule with our amazing team at Mamou. And, of course, high on this list is the quality time I spend with my family and friends who have been with me before, during, and after my cancer journey. My dogs, too — George, Charlie, and Clyde were there for me unconditionally.
